How to Replace an <a href="audi”>http://sting3d.xyz/user/pingrobin90/”>audi a1 key fob G28 Engine Speed Sensor

Charles the Humble Technician teaches you how to replace the G28 Engine Speed Sensor. The sensor is located at the top of the transmission, above the flywheel ring gear. It transmits a signal to the ECU via an uncolored wire (T55/49) and then to the tachometer in the instrument cluster.

  1. Engine Speed Sensor

The grey wire is situated on the outside of the transmission, just above the flywheel ring. This sensor sends signals through the grey wire to pin T55/49. The ECU utilizes this information to control fuel and boost. It also sends a signal to the G5 Tachometer located in the instrument cluster.

The sensor is used as a reference point to connect with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu needs to know when the crankshaft is TDC and the location of the camshaft so it can start spark and injectors according to the situation.

If this sensor fails, the ECU will show an error code P00160 which indicates that the Crank Shaft and Intake Camshaft aren’t in sync and possibly indicating the chain is stretched or a jump link on the upper chain of timing. However, the code won’t appear on its own without additional information from other sensors (G4 and G40).

It is a little tricky to test because there are several pins on the connector and they all have different functions. The best way to do it is to measure the resistance between the ECU and the sensor. When the sensor is operational, <a href="car”>https://articlescad.com/the-top-replacement-car-key-audi-is-gurus-3-things-221426.html”>car key cover audi it should be reading approximately 1000 ohms. If you’re having issues with this part, check for signs of coolant or oil in the connector bay.

  1. Injectors

Yesterday, as i was accelerating off the highway paytoll at a high speed, i noticed a huge drop in power. It was like the engine was running out of gas. Or, my injectors were <a href="audi”>https://minefender80.werite.net/10-real-reasons-people-hate-replacement-key-for-audi-a3″>audi key fob not working firing. I pulled out the spark plugs this morning and found that 3 were soaked with gasoline and the 4th was dry. When I start the engine, there are no sparks, I put a piece of tissue on top of each injector hole and the 3 drenched with gazoline leap out, however the 4th stay closed. I tested the ground connection on ECU pins 14/55/30/55/48/55/14/55/48/ I got 0ohm. I’m assuming the issue is somewhere else.

I also tried to reset PID but without success. The car will start when the G28 is unplugged, and it runs fine with the G28 plugged in. However the intermittent misfire issue still occurs at higher RPM. The temperature sensor for coolant (G62) shows the wrong temperature value of -49c even when i unplug it. I also noticed that the gauge for oil pressure in the cockpit is showing 2 bar when the actual pressure is 0.0 if i crank up the engine.

I don’t know what to do. I feel like i’ve pretty much all other possibilities out. I’m worried that i might have missed something. Let me know If you have any suggestions! TIA!

  1. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump of the g28 gets a signal from the RPM sensor. The GM-style transmitter is identical to the G4 sender, and both operate on the 80,100,200, <a href="Audi”>http://ezproxy.cityu.edu.hk/login?url=https://click4r.com/posts/g/18019546/17-signs-to-know-you-work-with-audi-a4-car-key-replacement”>Audi Q3 Key UrS, and RS2 vehicles. It is easy to find the spare in a salvage shop or a parts store. It is simple to test them – put your DMM in resistance mode and take measurements between pins 1 (with the bump on the connector’s end up) and 2 (2nd from the left on the black connector’s side). They must be infinite Ohms.

  1. ECU

Our 20vt turbo (3B AAN, ABY and ADU) engines are equipped with an ECU that has to be aware of the speed and position of the crankshaft in order to make decisions about timing of the fuel injectors, etc. It makes use of a Crank Position Sensor G4 and an Engine Speed Sensor G28 to accomplish this. If either of these goes badly, you will see codes on the diagnostic scanner which can cause the engine to shut down.

The signs of a malfunctioning G28 sensor include an inaccurate rev counter in the gearbox, gears shifting quicker than normal and/or misfiring when in gear. If you have any of these issues, it is likely that your sensor is failing and needs replacing. The good thing is that they are very affordable and easily accessible, especially in the case of a Bosch sensor, which is what we have. Alternately, the GM version of this unit is also a great option.

A failing engine speed sensor could be the reason behind numerous problems in your car. It’s an essential component of the <a href="Audi”>https://maps.google.cat/url?q=https://kokholm-lynggaard-2.blogbright.net/11-strategies-to-completely-block-your-audi-q7-car-key-replacement”>Audi Keyless go‘s transmission since it relays information to the ECU about how fast or slow the car’s crankshaft is rotating. If the sensor fails, it can affect the performance of the transmission, as well as the other car’s components.

The G5 engine speed sensor is located at the edge of the transmission, above the flywheel ring gear and transmits a signal to the ECU at pin T55/49 via an uncolored wire. The ECU then uses and processes this signal to control fuel, timig and boost as well as transmitting it to the G5 Tachometer located in the instrument cluster. You can check the sensor for failure by checking continuity between it and the tachometer, between the ECU pin T55/49 and the instrument cluster connection on pin T6a/1 (trace [79]) as well as between T6a/1, and the instrument cluster pin T26a/12. You should see the resistance to be around 1000 ohms in these areas. This is a typical component across the <a href="audi”>https://www.webwiki.co.uk/fuller-mcclure.thoughtlanes.net”>audi key 80 100 200, UrS and RS2 range from 1985 MC to the 1997 UrS AAN and 1995 RS2 ADU so good ones might be availble in wrecking yards.
